As 2018 is rapidly coming to an end, we wanted to share two great business awards that K9 Salute won this year. In April, K9 Salute was named an American Small Business Champion by SCORE & Sam's Club. We had the honor of sharing this win with 101 other businesses around the county. With over 1,100 applicants, we were 1 of 102 winners, with about two on average from each state. We were awarded a 3 day trip to Reno, NV in April to meet, network, and celebrate with the other winners. It was such an amazing experience and it's so motivating to see all of the other people growing their businesses and working towards their passion! Three awesome businesses then went on to win the Grand Championship and were each awarded $15,000 in September.
In August we received even more great news that K9 Salute was selected as one of three winners for the Bob Evans Farms Heroes to CEO's contest and we won a $25,000 business grant! There were 156 applicants, and this is the second year of the contest. They also partner with Daymond John from ABC's Shark Tank who provided a mentoring session to each winner. The total prize included a four day trip to NYC for the all day event and the check presentation at Daymond's beautiful co-working space, Blueprint + Co. The Bob Evans Farms team was absolutely tremendous and so generous to all of us, and Daymond was so great with his advice and the time that he spent with each of us. We will also be on Bob Evans Grocery packaging sometime in 2019. This is their packaged food products in grocery stores in the refrigerated section. These business prizes are a testament that K9 Salute is on the right track to growing a successful business in the pet industry. The trusted mentors I've gained along the way through these competitions are helping to guide me in making smart decisions.
